Fred Melin - President & CEO

15 years Tier I automotive recruiting experience. Fred comes from a successful background in sales, distribution, manufacturing and recruiting. He started his business ownership in 1975 when he founded a successful distributorship of capital equipment in the heart of southeast Michigan’s industrial community. In 1983 he started another company manufacturing capital equipment. In 1987 Fred sold his interest along with a covenant not to compete. Fred then began a very successful career in executive search with a worldwide recruiting company, using his contacts from his prior enterprises. Fred is the recipient of numerous national and regional awards for his performance and contributions to the executive search industry. Fred has built a great reputation, based on responsible and ethical principles and a sincere desire to increase the quality of life for every person with whom he comes in contact. In 2000 Fred opened Sterling Professional Search. Fred has played an important role in assembling teams of manufacturing professionals that built the Plymouth Prowler body and the Ford Class “A” truck cab, just to name a few. His customers include any company supplying parts or services to the automotive industry worldwide. Fred specializes in turn around activities and uses his unique ability to recognize the right leadership in a given situation. He helped to get a Tier I Automotive supplier on the road to recovery by placing a General Manager, who turned this poorly performing facility into the flagship plant within a multi-billion dollar, multi-national group of manufacturing facilities. Fred also recently played a key role in getting one of North America's largest Tier I automotive plastics suppliers on the road to recovery by placing a Director of Continuous Improvement in their world headquarters. Sheila Stokes - Recruiting Coordinator

You’ve all heard the phrase if you want a job done right contact a busy person. Sheila’s main responsibilities at Sterling Professional Search Include research & recruiting, administrative, IT technical support and managing day-to-day office management activities. Sheila completed her Associates Degree in Computer Support at Oakland Community College and is now attending Baker College for a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology and Security.

Mike Turi - Executive Search Specialist

5 years IT recruiting/Tier I automotive. Mike Turi has provided 30 years of service to his clients and business associates as a sales and marketing professional in the business services industry starting as a sales representative in the computer software industry. Currently, as an executive search specialist, Mike provides personnel search services to the IT, Financial Services, and Automotive industries. Mike has had exposure to a wide breadth of outstanding people in small to Fortune 500 companies. Mike has also had the opportunity to work in a variety of positions including: Sales Representative, Product Manager, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and President.

Mike has received numerous regional and national awards for his recruiting accomplishments. Mike also possesses an MBA in marketing.

Doug Carmean - Executive Search Specialist

20+ years of organizational development/recruiting. Doug comes from a background of more than 30 years with a nationally recognized organization. Doug was a leader within that organization and received high accolades for the training, personal support and organizational development that he provided for literally thousands of people. Many hundreds of those individuals have had highly successful careers as a result of the leadership and training that Doug provided His more recent successes have come over the last 10 years in the field of recruiting and executive search. Doug has placed top people in positions within many companies. In most instances those individuals have provided key leadership and have helped take their company to levels of success that they had never previously achieved. Many of these companies have become more profitable and have been able to retain their employees. Doug specializes in the manufacturing sector including automotive. He has also achieved success in aerospace, industrial, machining, and distribution companies. George Diamond - Executive Search Specialist

George has over 20 years of extensive hands-on leadership experience in recruiting and human resources management. Prior to joining Sterling Professional Search, George held the positions of Corporate Director of Human Resources and Plant Human Resources Manager for a major automotive supplier. In addition, George has spent several years providing HR consulting to employers in various industries including automotive, paint finishing, metal stamping, plastic molding, health care and financial services. He has an MA degree in Industrial Relations from Wayne State University and a BA degree in Economics from The University of Michigan. George has reputation for understanding the client's requirements, and identifying and placing top candidates who meet those requirements.
